Information about Oliver

I have a 1st Class Degree in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from Durham University, as well as 4 As at A Level and 8 A s and 2 As at GCSE.

I believe that the characteristics that I possess that make me a great tutor are an in-depth knowledge of my material, an outstanding level of professionalism, the listening and communication skills required to identify any underlying problems impeding my student`s development and the ability to adapt my teaching style to suit the needs and personality of each individual student in order to maximise their potential.

I am incredibly passionate about international travel. As part of my degree I spent 4 months in Argentina working as a teaching assistant and then spent 2 months travelling around Peru, Bolivia and Chile. I also spent 6 months living in Paris working as a PA in a market research company. My experiences enabled me to perfect my French and Spanish accents and also gave me unique insights into the cultures of the countries I visited.

I am an experienced actor and singer, and in my spare time I regularly perform in amateur productions of everything from pantomime to opera. I am also a keen athlete, and will be running the London Marathon in 2012 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Availability: I am completely flexible regarding my timetable and am available to work seven days a week.

Willing to travel: 20 miles

Experience: I have extensive experience teaching both children and adults. I passed my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course in 2006, which included 20 hours of assessed teaching. I also spent four months in Argentina in 2009 teaching English to secondary school pupils.

I have also tutored students in all areas in which I hold relevant academic qualifications. (See below for full list). I am currently on the books for two tutoring agencies in North London.

Non-academic areas that I have tutored include:

- IT skills (including all MS Office programmes)
- Drama and performance skills
- Interview techniques
- University and graduate job applications
