Japanese (primary, ks3, gcse)
I am a languages student, currently in my second year of a degree in Japanese Studies at the School of Oriental and African studies (SOAS) in London. I took evening classes in Japanese language during my A-levels, and enjoyed it so much that I decided to continue studying Japan and its language at degree level. I am 20 years old and my first language is English.
Availability: I am available for a completely felxible amount of tuition over this summer. I will be willing to continue tuition on a more limited basis during the next academic year if so desired. My fees are negotiable, based on the level of tuition required, travel arrangements etc.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: In the past I have provided casual language tuition for friends, and I am a friendly and patient person who greatly enjoys helping others to learn.
I do not have professional teaching experience or qualifications; my teaching would be relaxed, intuitive, and based on my own learning experience, allowing the student to progress at their own pace. I would use my own study materials as reference, incorporating my degree textbooks as appropriate. Ultimately I hope to tutor an enthusiastic student and help them to enjoy learning Japanese as much as I have!
Qualifications: I have Beginner and GCSE Japanese language qualifications, as well as two years of a degree in Japanese from SOAS (the first year of this course is above A-level).
