Information about Shivani

I have been teaching for several years and am hard working, committed, and patient. I understand that not every student learns at the same pace and for that reason I tailor my lessons to suit the learning style of each individual student.

When not teaching I study at UCL doing a doctorate in International Health and Development. In my spare time I enjoy reading and volunteering.

Availability: My schedule is quite flexible.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I have several years of teaching experience both in the UK and in Canada.

As a PhD candidate at the University College of London I have been a tutor on several courses, I am passionate about teaching and intend on working as a lecturer once completing my degree.

I was responsible for teaching undergraduate medical students and graduate international health students material relating to several health and development courses at UCL. My duties included, but were not limited to attending lectures, preparing questions and activities for weekly tutorial, providing individual consultation, and meeting with students after classes.

Additionally, I was given a supervisory role in aiding undergraduate students with their term end dissertations which required one on one support, editing, and regular meetings.

Prior to this I have taught on several Political Science courses, within the fields of global politics, development studies, women’s studies and health politics. I am also well read in the field of History and am comfortable teaching with an interdisciplinary approach.

While my work experience is at a university level, I am happy to teach children and work well with young people of all ages. I find teaching to be a rewarding experience and helping your child achieve their full potential is my intended goal as a teacher.

I have experience teaching students who are not native English speakers.
