My personal relationship with religion has enriched my aspiration for teaching Religious Education. Having first hand experience of religious practices and beliefs has prompted a keen interest and passion in learning about world religions and cultures. I savour opportunities to engage in dialogue with adherents of different faiths because it provides a platform to highlight similarities and at the same time helps to promote social harmony with the differences that exist. I therefore believe that as an RE teacher I am in an influential position in contributing towards the spiritual, moral and social development of my pupils. It is important for me to work towards awakening the spirituality of all individuals regardless of their religious background. I believe that faith can unite people throughout the world, and such acceptance and understanding from a young age is crucial. I want the opportunity to educate young minds about the world we live in and how they can better themselves through respect and knowledge of those different around them.

Availability: I am available during the weekdays and some Saturdays if necessary. I am willing to travel if fairly local as I dont drive. However I would prefer tutees to come to my home.

Experience: I have been teaching for 3 years. I have experience in teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5 (A-level RE). I have also experience in teaching GCSE Citizenship. I also focus greatly in students improving their English grammar, punctuation and literacy. Improving essay writing skills is also very important as it is a requirement to write detailed explanations in Religious Education examinations. This also helps tackle cross-curricular issues, and enables students to improve aspects of their learning across the board and not just in one particular subject area.
