I am a 20 year old University student living in Fulham and studying Physics at Imperial College and Music at the Royal College of Music, both in South Kensington. I play the French Horn and the Piano (badly!), and in my holidays enjoy independent travel - most recently I made it a whole 4 meters into North Korea!

Experience: I have given short term English Tuition in South Korea and also mentored many large and smaller groups over the last year as part of my Music Degree I have tutored my brother through his GCSE Maths, Biology and French exams and a fellow student through his college application and later his University personal statement and interviews.
I would first make sure that my pupils had a good grasp of the important basics and understood what was required of them in an exam. I have seen my own marks lost in exams simply because I did not mention a particular word, even when I understood the topic and thought I had given a satisfactory answer. Understanding the exam system does not guarantee a good grade but I believe it is a very important part of learning, even if in the long term it does not mean the subject is fully understood. To teach the actual subject I would encourage pupils to work through problems themselves, whilst providing helpful pointers and theory where necessary. Pupils would also be welcome to bring other problems to me and have trouble-shooting sessions on what they have identified as their weaknesses.
Qualifications: Starting my 2nd Year at Imperial College London and the Royal College of Music doing a Physics & Music Degree (predicted a 1st).
A-Levels in Maths (A), Further Maths (A), Chemistry (A), Physics(A).
GCSE Grades 10A , 1A.
