Information about Martin
I am a 39 year old professional tutor of Maths A-level. I have been a resident and tutor for the Crewe and Nantwich area for over a decade.
Obviously, with the current Coronavirus pandemic, any lessons will now have to be done over skype.
Availability: I offer one-hour sessions starting at 4pm or 7pm on weekdays (please see the table for current availability), as well as early-afternoon sessions for those college/6th form students with regular afternoons off.
Lessons are weekly during term-times, but can be held during some of the holidays as well if desired.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I`ve been supporting students of every ability in their A-level studies. Dissipating stress, and increasing self-confidence are very important for mathematical success - so I always focus on encouraging and emboldening every student.
No student should feel embarrassed or guilty about any gap in their knowledge - it is no problem for me to take a step back and explain anything they`ve missed (or forgotten) - and it does not matter how far back that topic might have been from.
My ultimate goal is to help them find an enthusiasm for conquering challenging problems!
Working with students from all the colleges and 6th forms in the wider region has required a different type of support for each: ranging from increased practice and examples for courses with less material support, to the other extreme for very work-heavy courses where explanation of the problems their lecturer has given them is usually needed (by parallel examples and the Socratic method).
Exam boards whose syllabuses that I frequently cover include AQA, Edexcel/Pearson and OCR.
