I have always loved science, and for my first degree I studied biology at London University. I worked for two years as a plant physiologist for ICI Agrochemicals before moving to Bristol to work towards a PhD. I studied the molecular genetics of a disease of pea plants, and stayed on in the lab as a researcher after I finished my PhD.

I am now a parent, and spent several years at home with my young children before qualifying as a teacher.

Experience: I achieved my PGCE in secondary science from Bath Spa University in 2007. I have worked full time at a secondary school in Wiltshire, teaching all sciences at KS3 and 4. In September 2009 I started working part time teaching A level biology at a secondary school in Bath, and have tutored A level biology and GCSE science students since that time.
I have marked A level papers for the OCR exam board since 2010.
