I am an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who always wants to see my pupils achieve their potential. I have been teaching English, Media Studies and Film Studies at a large Ipswich secondary school for the past seven years. Previously I have been Key Stage 3 co-ordinator and I am now currently Head of Media Studies. Previously I have been an English Literature examiner for AQA and have now changed over to be an examiner for the new AQA 9-1 English Language exam.
I graduated with a First Class Masters degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Glasgow and went straight into a teaching career where I gained my Qualified Teacher Status as an outstanding trainee.
Availability: After school hours and evenings.

Experience: Previously I have taught AQA English Literature at A2 and AS level, and am fully up to date with other exam board specifications such as WJEC. Currently, I teach the new EDUQAS 9-1 English Language and English Literature specifications but am up to date with other exam boards too. In my own teaching I cover Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls and poetry. I am a examiner for EDUQAS English Lang component 2.
From tutoring experience I have also covered various other exam specifications such as: AQA English Language (Spec A) at A2 level, Edexcel English Language GCSE and WJEC English Literature at A2 level. Additionally, from tutoring I have covered a wider range of texts other than those I teach including Tess of the D`Urbervilles, The Great Gatsby, Othello, The Tempest, Dr Faustus, To Kill a Mockingbird, Touching the Void, Lord of the Flies and relationships poetry for the AQA anthology.
