Maths (gcse)
I am 32 years old, conscientious and very committed to whatever I do. I am friendly and approachable and believe that it's important to treat people with respect and understanding at all times. I believe that my sense of humour and fun is very important both to my work and my life in general. My communication and inter-personal skills are crucial for my job.
I am honest, flexible and generous. I enjoy being relatively active, enjoying football, tennis, badminton, swimming and yoga. Yoga, in particular, is excellent for concentration and analytic thinking.

Experience: I have been tutoring for six years. At first I was tutoring in English and philosophy as well as maths. But I soon realised that teaching maths was really where my talents were and what I felt was most fulfilling for me.
Over these years I have tutored pupils for Key Stage 1 (7 years old), Key stage 2 (11 years old), Key stage 3 (14 years old), Common Entrance Exam, Scholarship Exams (including Harrow), GCSE, IGCSE, Admiralty Entrance Exam and GCSE-equivalence for trainee teachers.
I've been equally comfortable teaching both adults and children. As long as the student is motivated I have a near 100% success-rate, whether the aim is to push for a 'C' or an A* or entrance to Harrow.
I strongly believe that enjoying the lessons is crucial to their success. I am friendly and humorous, finding it easy to get on with anyone. Even teenagers often remark that they enjoy my lessons and being taught by me even if they've never enjoyed maths at school.
I have very high standards, though, and demand commitment and respect from my pupils. I am honest enough to have recommended that parents stop sessions if their children are not working in the lessons or not doing their homework. I am interested in helping people, rather than simply making money.
I have an excellent and very rounded academic background. My background in philosophy means that I am strong on logical thinking and analysing the thoughts and abilities of others. My knowledge of my subject is excellent and I am very practised at communicating it in a variety of ways to many different kinds of people.
