My name is Laura and I am 28 years old. I am originally from Birmingham but now I live by the sea in Worthing with my partner. I am an intelligent, creative person. I have a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature from Oxford University and am currently working on the draft of a novel. I would ideally like more time to spend on writing my book and am in search of more rewarding paid work, hence my desire to tutor. I am fully CRB checked and available immediately.

Aside from writing, I love reading books, photography and watching films. I also like working with people, which is one of the (many) reasons why I enjoy tutoring.

I am friendly, patient and passionate about my subject. I listen to my tutees and strive to create sessions that are tailored to the needs of that particular individual. My approach to tutoring is supportive, relaxed, enthusiastic and thorough. I aim to build confidence as well as increase knowledge and understanding.

Availability: Available now, Monday - Friday, late-afternoon or evening.

Experience: I have previous experience of working with students, having mentored Year 8 pupils, designed and delivered workshops to young people interested in applying to university and, as an academic coach in a comprehensive school, coached Year 10 and 11 pupils through their AQA English Language and Literature GCSE syllabus.

I have been a private tutor for 2 years now, helping students (ranging from Year 8 - university level) with all aspects of their English Literature and Language courses - including in-depth analysis of texts, improving coursework, exam preparation and revision skills.

Qualifications: BA (Hons) English Language and Literature, Somerville College, Oxford University (graduated in 2003).
4 A levels (English Literature, History, Art History, and Art and Design) at Grade A.
10 GCSEs at grades A* - B.
