Information about Kevin

After a career as an Economist for a large International Investment Bank I became senior Lecturer in Finance and Economics at a London-based Business School. At the University I taught on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including corporate finance, international financial markets and first year economics. I would be glad to tutor you in any of these areas. I do not offer tuition on second year macro, micro or econometrics.

My main area of expertise is helping students with AS Economics and A2 Economics. I cover all the micro/macro topics that you might find difficult. Feedback from students suppports that I am able to make complex economics topics much clearer and more understandable.I work with tutees from all the major exam boards including AQA, Edexcel and OCR.

I also focus on exam techniques showing you how to maximise your grades with both essays and the multi-choice sections.

I am also happy to help with with any Economics or Finance based dissertations at undergraduate or MBA levels.

I worked with one AS-level Economics tutee who came to me after originally getting a grade E in the summer of 2011. After a few months of regular tuition he took a resit in January 2012 and was awarded a grade A.

I worked with one tutee this summer after she had failed her 1st year Economics course at a leading London-based University. In three weeks I took her through the entire course again and as a result she passed her resit with a 62% grade. Her mother sent me the following feedback:

"It is hard to imagine just how you were able to take a student from 25% to 62% in less than 3 weeks? I cannot stress enough how fortunate I was to have found you and how lucky we were that you took my daughter on. It really proves that if you get the right teacher, the student can achieve anything and I believe we had the BEST TEACHER EVER. You are a miracle worker, without a shadow of a doubt. We are so immensely grateful to you".

The mother of another A-level tutee also sent the following feedback after a couple of sessions:

"I can see her self confidence returning and a weight lifted off her shoulders ever since she started with you. I cannot repeat enough how very grateful and thankful I am for your positive, dedicated, enthusiastic and committed approach in teaching my daughter"..

In a recent survey of University students I received the following comments:

· "He is outstanding.

· "the methods, structure and effectiveness surpassed any other teacher I was taught by, and by some margin".

· "he understand the psychology of a student".

In addition I have written two books:

"Reading and understanding the Financial Times" and "Reading and Understanding Economics". These books have a linked website with full details of the sorts of things I can teach.

You can also see me on youtube talking about the book and how to use it to learn more about finance and economics. Just search for my name on youtube.
