I am a retired school teacher of English and Religious Studies.. I have a first class honours degree in English and Religious Studies from Brunel and was first in my year. I have been an examiner for the for both IGCSE AND GCSE and A level for English and RE. I am also experienced in HPQ and EPQ for students qualifications.

I teach English Literature up to and including second year undergraduate level.
I can teach world religions up to and including second year undergraduate and philosophy and ethics up to and including A LEVEL.

As part of my degree I also covered History, Anthropology, and Government and Politics, Sociology and can teach these also to A level.

Availability: Individual tuition is available online via an interactive learning network which replicates precisely technology that will be used in a classroom.
This is my main job so am available for tuition most days and most times. I work on a first come first served basis but priority is always given to A level down to very young children in year 4. I believe children younger than this need to work with their parents initially but I will add them to my waiting list from year 3 onwards. I am more than happy to work with parents on my waiting list with regard to work set in preparation for them starting to work with me later.

Experience: I have 25 years teaching experience up to Senior Leadership in both Comprehensive and Grammar schools and 13 years tutoring experience in both Religious Studies,English, Maths, Politics, History, Citizenship, Sociology and primary subjects. I have taught for 13 years at secondary level and seven years at primary level having prepared many students for their 11+ 13+ and Common Entrance examinations. Students I have taught have gone on to Hampton, Lady Eleanor Holles, Kingston Grammar, Tiffin, Eton and Cheltenham Ladies. At university level I have succeeded in getting students to both Oxford and Cambridge including universities in the US(MIT,Harvard and Yale) and one student has completed his PhD in Theology at Oxford and id now a lecturer there. I have some experience with special needs though this is not my primary qualification. I can assess students for basic problems.
In recent years I have been able to add online tutoring to my `bow` and find it an excellent medium through which to tutor as students naturally warm to the technology! Having said that I am happy to teach 1-1 and groups also though these must be within easy proximity to my home - please check with me on enquiry.
