Biology (primary, ks3, gcse)
Psychology (degree, adult-learner, a-level)
Sociology (ks3, gcse, a-level)
I am passionate about Psychology and Sociology and forever aspiring to understand the world we live in. I am a committed person and aim to inspire enthusiasm and dedication in others.
I have experience assisting children with Special Educational Needs in a local primary school. This was especially challenging but extremely rewarding. I have also spoken at conferences for professionals and parents dealing with children with autistic spectrum disorder.
Presently, I am an Education Support Worker which involves delivering specialist support to university students living with the effects of brain injury and Neurological conditions.
I take a person centered approach to tuition dependent on the needs, skills and wants of the student and parent. In general I will focus on areas of the curriculum that the student requires the most support in, while trying to expand on the student`s strengths by getting them thinking critically about the topics they fully understand. I believe in a creative and personalised approach to teaching, learning and revision- what works for one does not work for all and we shouldn`t be afraid to try new ideas.
I find that young people need to enjoy their tuition to feel positive about making progress. I am an open person and always willing to answer questions honestly while boosting the confidence of those I teach.
I am extremely familiar with the UCAS process and prepared to help tutees raise their game academically and guide them through filling in forms and writing personal statements as universities increasingly raise entry standards.
Please note- the time of year is coming when I recieve a lot of requests for intensive tuition over short periods of time. I am prepared to offer this but it is my experience that most students benefit from consistent tuition across the academic year. Therefore if you engage my services over 1-2 months before an exam I take no responsibility if you or your child do not achieve the desired result
