Before taking a career break, to stay at home with my young children, I worked in education for many years, most recently for 11 years at Keele University.

Although I have only one year of experience of private tuition, I have extensive experience of tutoring maths. For several years I was a lecturer in the Physics Department at Keele University. I was maths coordinator for the Physics department, with responsibility for teaching maths to the physics students, particularly those without AS or A2 maths. In addition to delivering the (A-level standard) course, this included giving weekly tutorials to several small groups and individuals. These were very well received by the students.

Maths has always been my first love in teaching, and I particularly enjoy the one to one teaching, where the tutorial can be tailored to each person`s particular needs.

I am offering maths tuition covering KS3, GCSE, AS level and A-level (A2) pure maths and applied maths (mechanics) . Tutorials can be arranged in your home.

References from my colleagues at Keele University are available if required, as is a character reference from a local headteacher. I have an Enhanced CRB disclosure certificate issued in December 2009.

Availability: I am currently full, but will have availibility for new students at weekends, or during school hours, from June.

I am unable to offer after school tutorials.

Qualifications: BSc. Maths with Astronomy (1st class hons), University of Leicester.

PhD in Astrophysics, University of Cambridge.
