Hi I'm Jessica.

After getting a First Class Degree Hons. with oral distinction in French from the University of Bristol, I'm currently studying for an MA at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.

I am passionate about languages and am able to motivate and inspire people to feel the same.

I took my French GCSE a year early, got As at A-Level in French and German, and received a distinction in the French Advanced Extension Award. I am aware of the nature of both GCSE and A-Level syllabuses, having sat them myself relatively recently, and appreciate the jump required of post-16 language students. I am therefore able to relate to students on a level best suited to them, motivating and encouraging them in a way that will allow their confidence to grow and their accuracy to sharpen.

Teaching Approach: I take a fun approach to teaching as I believe this helps vocabulary and grammatical points remain firmly in the learner's mind. I also strongly believe in establishing good foundations of a language achieved through a thorough understanding of the building blocks of the language. I am very creative and am able to adapt my approach to different learners. My students have continually noticed an improvement in both confidence and ability, indeed one of my students in Germany went from achieving D grade equivalents, to As.

Experience: Teaching Experience: I have a varied range of teaching experience and have been tutoring for two years. Previous experience includes teaching English at Tsinghua University in Beijing, and tutoring pupils for nine months in Dusseldorf. I have also worked as a languages assistant in an outstanding grammar school and give one-on-one lessons online to French people wanting to learn English.
