Biology (a-level)
I’m actually a 36 year old freelance actor and director for theatre and film, with a great deal of experience of work specifically with young people (directing, coaching and tutoring).
However, I’m a Biology graduate and was also part way through an MPhil (at Newcastle Uni) when I decided to follow my heart into the world of theatre and film, so I'm able to comfortably offer tutoring support up to A-level standard.
I’ve got a good knack of getting concepts and ideas across to people in a clear and simple way, and at a level, and in a way, tailored to them; my background in the creative industry actually helps a lot with this; I’ve a very empathetic, dialectic teaching style and work a lot in images, visualisation and imagination.
I’d also describe my style of work with young people (and adults) as: relaxed but challenging, unpretentious but with high standards, sensitive but honest, fun but thorough.
I’m patient, friendly, reliable, punctual and very student-focussed.
