My name is James and I recently graduated from Southampton University with a degree in Physics.
I spend the majority of my free time sailing, and i have been working for the RYA for 6 years, running national sailing squads, providing race training for up to 30 children with an age range of 6-18, for 6-8 weekends per winter season.
I'm very approachable, friendly, and i have a great deal of patience.
It is always important to first find out exactly what stage a tutee is at in their development, where they want to get, and how they want to get there. It is also important to know the best way in which a tutee learns, be it visually, aurally, through reading or even kinetics. these are factors that take a session or two to fully pick up, but in the long term, allow for much more focussed and personalised tutoring.
Availability: I am available throughout the week, essentially any time of the day, whenever is most convenient for you.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I have been doing on and off GCSE tutoring for 5 years, and A-Level for about 3. The majority of my teaching experience has been based around the sailing tuition i previously mentioned, and also some swimming instructing. The principles are basically the same, just with a different subject matter.
Having recently finished my Physics degree, i hope i can now go on to help people that little bit more.
Qualifications: I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics and numerous coaching qualifications that i have obtained over the past 6 years.
