I am a young, recent graduate who is passionate about teaching.
During my degree, I specialised in mechanical and biomedical engineering, producing a report in my final year entitled "Assessment of the suitability of shear rheometry to assess the mechanical properties of tendon". I was awarded a place to continue this project for a PhD, but could not accept the place due to lack of funding.
Outside teaching and academia, I am a keen sportsman, regularly playing football and cycling whenever possible. I also enjoy staying up-to-date with current affairs and politics.

I feel that all maths and sciences are easiest to learn if explained from basic principles, with as many references to everyday experiences as possible. Rather than learning an abstract set of rules, I think learning is best done by understanding a few basic principles, then developing the skills required to manipulate and use these in applied problems.

Availability: I am available to tutor throughout the week, at evenings and generally at weekends.

Experience: I have tutoring experience with mathematics GCSE.
I have also coached a potential applicant to Oxford on the entrance aptitude test and taken part in subject specific Oxbridge interview coaching sessions around the country.

Qualifications: - MEng Degree (2010) in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford

- A-Levels (2006): Chemistry-A, Physics-A, Mathematics-A, Economics-A (Please note, this was before the A* was introduced for A-Level)

- Awarded a Scholarship to attend the 6th Form of Eton College

- GCSEs (2004): Double Science-A*A*, Mathematics-A*, English Literature-A*, Statistics-A, Also 4 others at grade B.
