I am a qualified barrister who practised for a number of years before going on maternity leave. I practised in a variety of areas of law at first, specialising in criminal work towards the end.
Since then I now work part time as an Examiner of the Court (taking depositions), chair of the standards committee of Cheshire Police Authority and a lay member of the Mersey Deanery.
I firmly believe that every learner is an individual who learns at his/her own pace and in his/her own way. As such, I shall take time to get to know my tutees and devise lesson plans according to their particular requirements.
I am a friendly, approachable individual who is enthusiastic about the law and passing that knowledge on to tutees.
Availability: weekdays and weekends
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I used to take mini-pupils and pupils to court with me on a regular basis, explaining any legal points to them and helping to teach them about the law and the role of a barrister.
Although deemed `appointable` to be a tutor with the Open University I have just heard that they do not have sufficient numbers of students to give me a tutorial group for this year, so am looking to tutor privately instead.
