A recent Oxford graduate, I have experience of how one-on-one tutorials can encourage strengths while targeting weaknesses.

At GCSE and A level I teach English Literature and Language, and Theatre Studies. As well as knowing the English canon backwards, I have an extensive knowledge of linguistics and issues in English Language. In particular I can help with English Language commentaries and drama essays, which are often stumbling blocks for otherwise very competent students.

At university I provide support through study skills, proofreading, and routes to extend your studies. And having been through the process myself, I can help you prepare for application to Oxford or Cambridge, including interview and entrance exam preparation.

At primary level and KS3 I provide tuition in all areas of English. Additionally I offer tuition for grammar school entrance exams (the 11+ or J4) which tests language and logic skills.

Experience: I have tutored secondary and university English since graduating from Oxford in June 2010. Prior to this I regularly assisted at residential courses in creative writing for children and teenagers, eventually leading a highly successful week-long creative writing retreat for young adults in 2009. I was assistant director to a Youth Theatre production of the Canterbury Tales, and have directed a number of successful student productions.

At university I was an access volunteer, offering advice to entrants from disadvantaged backgrounds. An alumna of Pates Grammar School and Oxford University, I have first hand experience of their entrance requirements and how to meet them.
