I am a sporty, friendly and business minded individual. I aim to inspire students through making education fun, challenging and relating the topic area to something that interests you. I utilise a number of different interactive websites, books and newspaper articles that allow students to visualise the problems they face. I predominantly tutor Physical Education, Leisure, Travel and Tourism and Business. In addition, I am a member of the British Dyslexia Association and have supported and devised strategies assist students with Dyslexia

Availability: Weekday evenings (4.30pm onwards) and Saturdays.

Experience: Business
Using the knowledge and experience gained from my MSc in Sports Management I have been able to teach BTEC First in Business, GCSE in Business Studies and A level Business Studies. I have produced marketing and public relations plans for voluntary organisations. In addition, I have taught and have expertise in the following areas Business and Enterprise, Marketing, People in Business, Human Resources and Operations Management.

Sport
I have taught BTEC First in Sport, GCSE Physical Education and BTEC in Sport and Exercise Science. My experience working as a sports coach and gym instructor has enabled me to provide my students with knowledge of the sport industry. I have Level 2 in Athletics, Diet and Nutrition level 2, Fitness Instructing Level 2. My other sports coaching qualifications include Level 1 in football, Level 1 in hockey and Tag Rugby Leaders. I have gained experience teaching the following topic areas: Anatomy and Physiology of Sport, Sport Psychology, Fitness testing and Training and Sports Nutrition.

Special Needs
I have worked as a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils as various schools. I have completed a Level 2 Dyslexia Awareness course that provided training in practical solutions for dyslexia, spelling strategies, screening for dyslexia and dyscalculia. I feel confident designing a paper based screening tool and using other screening tools to investigate whether a student is showing signs of dyslexia. The training has helped me to provide students with dyslexia and other learning difficulties with some study skills and strategies to employ in everyday life such as using pictures and stories to remember facts, different note taking styles (bullet points, mind maps and colour coding information) and syllable spelling.
