I am a trained secondary school teacher and an avid musician. I play numerous instruments including the piano, violin and viola.I believe that students engage more when they are taught using music they like themselves. I also believe however that sometimes as tutors we have to open their eyes to new music in order for them to make an informed decision abou the types of music they wish to play.
