I have a passion for learning, demonstrated by my gaining a BA Hons from Durham (Combined Arts; English, Theology and Arabic), and this summer, a BSc Hons in Paediatric Nursing. I really enjoy working with young people from a range of backgrounds and ages and teaching - I run two choirs, so am often found teaching 40 people simultaneously! I am in the process of applying for Medical School, so I obviously enjoy academia!

I have learnt that the best way to engage people is to have fun with a topic, turning it on its head if necessary! I adore English literature, particularly Shakespeare and more modern playwrights - I also have a lot of experience of performing these, so enjoy properly getting to grips with texts!

I am also fascinated by world religions, having written a dissertation on Islamic Terrorism, and studied a range of religious practices, texts and beliefs whilst at the University of Durham.

My enthusiasm is infectious, and I do love a challenge!

Availability: I'm pretty flexible, having just graduated - I work on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, but am otherwise generally able to work around you!

Experience: I have taught in a number of schools in Newcastle during my training as a Paediatric Nurse, and have worked with young people for over a decade in my work as a freelance musician and whilst acting.

In my work as a choral director, I teach 60-70 young people and adults every week - if I can motivate them in a cold church hall on a Wednesday night in December, I can certainly motivate you or your child!
