Information about Jacqueline Antonia

I have just completed (2011) a two year Cert Ed/PGCE teaching qualification. During the time I have been studying for this qualification I have worked, on a voluntary basis, at a community centre in Warrington. I have undertaken full teaching responsibilities within my work place such as designing lessons in the arts (particularly in painting textiles and ceramics).
During my teaching practice at the community centre I have become a practical and highly motivated professional who is hardworking and reliable, who is open-minded and will respond well and is open to ideas that will attract me and involve myself fully to the best of my ability.
I am enthusiastic about new opportunities and respond well to problems and see them as a challenge. I respond well to any problems seeing them as a challenge while always keeping a positive frame of mind I have an effective centred approach to teaching have excellent written and verbal communication skills, have a clear commitment to principles and practices of Every Child Matters ,the practices of equality and diversity, an ability to meet deadlines Initiative, positivism and enthusiasm and a willingness to contribute to wider college activities These qualities are what have drawn me to teaching
Teaching in the Arts as a whole provides individuals with the opportunity to express themselves, their thoughts and feelings and I would thoroughly enjoy working with individuals such as this as part of a team.
I have excellent knowledge of design in terms of skills, materials and equipment and my specialities are in printed Textiles, fashion /garment construction, ceramics, life drawing and embroidery which I used in my degree (in my final year project)
This allowed me to achieve a Class One Honours Degree, and on gaining my Masters Degree (Collaborative project).I feel I have furthered my knowledge and skills on a personal and professional level in fashion/printed textiles, and ceramics and 3D Design. I am a 'hands on practitioner' and able to demonstrate an active research profile and excellent evidence of professional practice, combined with a wide-ranging knowledge of two dimensional processes and three dimensional realisation skills.
This teaching position would offer me a great opportunity for developing further my teaching career and I would look forward to offering a professional contribution to all aspects of teaching, research and college life.
I am fully committed to the progression and development of my career and would welcome any opportunity to further my knowledge of teaching, I would be happy to discuss any of the above in more detail should you decide to call me for an interview.
Thank you for your time,
