I am a Cambridge graduate with over a year of extensive experience in Private Tuition.

I am friendly and approachable with good people skills and would hope to put students of all ages at their ease and to build a solid tutor-friend relationship.

My aim in a session is to leave the tutee feeling comfortable with whatever topic we have covered, but also enthused and willing to study more. I try to find ways to make studying as fun as possible by combining a tutee’s personal interests with the curriculum they need to study in order to create an enjoyable study environment. I will provide well-prepared session plans and materials, but am willing for the lesson to develop in the manner most helpful to the tutee – spending longer on more challenging areas or points of particular interest. Whilst it is important to ensure the student is well-prepared to achieve their full potential in exams, my aim is also to create a sense of academic fulfilment and to inculcate a true love of the subject within a student, which will last a lifetime.

Availability: I am available at most times: Monday-Sunday, Day or Evening. I also happily tutor on Skype.

Experience: I tutor regularly to students of a variety of ages and skills. I have also assisted primary school reading groups and worked as a freelance drama instructor to local Brownies/Girl Guides groups. I have experience working in schools and with children of all ages and skills (Classroom Assistant 2005-2008 Benwell Primary School, Tyne & Wear) as well as great knowledge of education techniques (read BA Hons in Education Studies).

I have personal experience in entrance exams too – gaining scholarships to two competitive public schools at age 11 (La Sagesse School and Church High School, Newcastle upon Tyne), and a further scholarship for a prestigious Sixth Form (Newcastle Royal Grammar School) all based upon exam and interview. I also have the experience of the arduous OxBridge entrance exam and interview preparation for which I would be happy to provide tuition.
