Personal Deion:
Having taught privately since 2005 and being a qualified IT Trainer, I have a passion for teaching. I am also a freelance and published writer.

Being in my mid-late twenties with a mother who is a secondary school maths teacher, means that I am young enough for students to relate to and also have contact with the latest in education.

With my job being so people orientated I am naturally a peoples person and having taught a wide variety of youths and adults, am flexible in my teaching style.

Achievement: my student was diagnosed as being partial dyslexic from her private school. After assessing her English, I decided that I thought she just lacked the foundation education in her subject, and after 8 months - 1 year of tuition with me, her parents showed the school work she had produced for me. They admitted that they had misdiagnosed her and offered her free private tuition. Furthermore my student returned to me a few years later for help preparing for her GCSE's.

Tutoring Approach:
I am a firm believer in ensuring that a strong foundation is set so, regardless of the level of the student, I always start off with and maintain the basics.

I also believe in flexibility - sometimes it is appropriate to let the student be the driver of what material to cover, other times, students need more guidance. From my experience, academic strength is half the battle and confidence is the other half, which is why I always encourage students to be proactive to build their confidence.

I am not the tutor for you if you are looking for an easy ride! I set homework and am strict in my marking so that when my students achieve good results, they know they have really done well.

Availability: Weekdays from 6pm onwards, all day weekends.
