I have grown up in America and Germany, so am therefore mothertongue in both languages. At secondary school (in Germany) I was the best in my class throughout all years. I aced in sciences, especially Maths and Physics, and completed three dead languages (Latin, Greek and Ancient Hebrew) whilst learning two modern languages in evening classes. I have spent several months in Italy, which is why I am also completely fluent in Italian.

Experience: I started tutoring at the age of 14 when my Maths teacher approached me. For the following four years I tutored GCSE and A-level students in Maths, English, Physics and Latin mainly. All of my students were failing their courses and after working together they managed to improve their level to A or B+.

When tutoring a language my main goal is for the student to understand the structure of a language and its application, as they could study their vocabulary just as well alone. Once we have then "cracked" the language my goal is to excite them to continue learning and keep their grades up.

When tutoring a science or maths I apply an understanding-approach as well. I try to make the student truly comprehend by demonstrating concepts with examples and going in-depth.
