I am a career scientist working in research in the field of Child Health at the University of Manchester. My first degree was in Physiology and Zoology and my doctorate is in molecular biology and membrane transport
Tutoring Experience: I have extensive experience of teaching both small groups and 1:1, including ESL students. Throughout my university career I have taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level and have had pastoral responsibility for students in the department. Since having my own children I have actively engaged in outreach activities to both junior and secondary schools. Recently, prior to becoming a tutor I spent 1 year working with KS2, KS3 and GCSE students
Tutoring Approach: I believe that in order for my students to achieve their best my role as a tutor is to build confidence, stimulate interest and consolidate knowledge. I recognize the difference in learning styles between individuals and employ a range of teaching approaches to address these, always tailored to the individual student.
