I went to school in Southern Africa, and to University in Pietermaritzburg, Natal. I moved with my parents to Hong Kong, spent a year teaching there, then moved to the UK where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. I married, have 3 stepchildren, (now grown up), and a couple of rather spoiled cats! I do rather less accountancy now, and more tutoring. When I can help a student make sense of something convince him or her that a topic isn`t really that difficult, it makes my day. I try to inspire and motivate to pass on where possible my own enthusiasm for maths and science.

Experience: I spent my first year teaching Maths and Science in Zimbabwe, then moved with my family to Hong Kong, where I taught Maths at the International School to students aged 13 - 16. Then I moved to the UK, qualified as a Chartered Accountant and worked in practice and industry for about 20 years. A few years ago the daughter of a friend needed help with GCSE studies, I got involved and really enjoyed it. Since then I have worked part-time as a maths and science tutor at a local senior school.
