I have always enjoyed tutoring music and have experience teaching individual instrumental lessons and classroom teaching. I graduated from Oxford University in June 2009 with a BA in Music and a wide range of performing experience.
I teach the piano and clarinet from beginner level upwards. I also teach general music theory and provide support for those who are studying for the ABRSM theory exams.
From 2003 - 2006 I studied at the Junior Department of the Royal Northern College of Music and have a wide range of orchestral experience including the National Children’s Orchestra; Shropshire Youth Orchestra; European Youth Music Week; Oxford University Philharmonia; Ensemble Isis, a faculty ensemble for performing new compositions; Symphonia Eroica and New Chamber Opera (Studio).
Availability: I prefer to teach in the weekday afternoons or evenings though I am flexible depending on the individual pupil.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: At the end of July 2011 I completed a year working in Paris as an au pair and music tutor for an English family.
Previous to this, I tutored maths up to KS3 and music theory on a private basis.
Before attending university, I taught individual instrumental lessons on the clarinet and piano. I also spent two years teaching classroom music for an hour a week in a primary school.
