I`m a graduate with a degree in English Language and Music from the University of Birmingham.
I was awarded a 1st in the English Language half of my degree (my music marks meant my grade averaged at a mid 2:1).
I was also awarded an ‘A’ for A Level English Language.
Throughout my degree I specialised in language acquisition, so I would be an ideal tutor for students wishing to improve their grasp of the English Language. This could include young children, or adults who are learning English as a foreign language.
My degree also specialised in the mechanics of English and I have advanced knowledge of Parts of Speech - which would be of great use to students at Key Stage 3 and 4.
I’m comfortable teaching students of all ages and backgrounds and consider myself to be tough but fair tutor.
I strive to get the most out of my students as I can. I do this by applying the correct amount pressure and issuing regular praise.

Availability: I am free to work evenings.

Experience: The majority of my work involves helping children achieve their potential in the 11+/Entrance Exams. My main thrust being the tuition of basic to advanced comprehension skills.


I have also taught at GCSE/A Level standard - improving essay writing skills, as well as providing tips on how to revise and complete lengthy English exams.

Qualifications: English Language and Music degree from the University of Birmingham (2:1 Hons).
A Level English Language: `A` Grade.
GCSE English Language GCSE: A
8 Other GCSE`s at an average `A` Grade.
