I have a deep love of history, international affairs, and politics accompanied by a demonstrable track record of high academic performance in these fields. I am particularly knowledgeable on modern (post 1900) British, American and Middle Eastern history/politics but can comfortably teach several other periods/topics.

I have done several educational projects, including working with young adults with special learning needs, helping children whose first language was not English, and working with local schools in the North East classed as `struggling`. I was also part of a student-to-student mentoring scheme while at Durham University. Furthermore, I have extensive, successful experience as a communicator having coached rowing and rugby for five years (including a formal coaching qualification).

Above all, I pride myself on my character as trustworthy, honest, and reliable, and recognise that learning should be as much about enjoying yourself as it is remembering dates and figures.

Availability: Most weekday evenings after 6.30 and most weekends.
