I am an experienced professional teacher/tutor; approachable and patient, reliable and well prepared. Students require tutoring for a variety of reasons. This may be to help with particular literacy difficulties or to improve performance at examination level. I believe in providing opportunities for students to progress regardless of age and ability. I use a variety of teaching and learning strategies to develop the skills and confidence to encourage independent learning. I believe in both supporting and challenging students whilst providing them with a structured approach.

Availability: I work from home.
Available evenings, weekends and some afternoons.

Experience: Over thirteen years' teaching experience at secondary level. English across Key Stage Three, Four and Five.
Experience with all levels of ability; those with SEN, borderline grade students and high achievers.
Experience mentoring and coaching small groups and individual students.
Clear understanding of examination specifications and assessment methods. Previous experience as Examiner for examination boards.
Knowledge of Adult Literacy and Basic Skills curriculums. I am happy to tutor adults.
