I am a self-employed teacher of modern foreign languages (German, Spanish, French, maths and English as a Foreign Language) who is experienced in teaching a wide age range of people and in a number of different scenarios, i.e. Spanish to school children in Barnsley, GCSE Spanish tuition to pupils in Barnsley, Wakefield and Sheffield, A-level German and Spanish tuition in Wakefield and Leeds, adult classes in Barnsley, business language courses in Sheffield and Doncaster and senior citizens. To date I have tutored to people between the ages of 3 and 93 years of age.

I am self-taught in two of the five languages which I am able to speak and have therefore been able to associate with learners who seek simplified ways to acquire language and hope to be able to express themselves clearly, by striving, as so many do, to gain confidence with the spoken language. I am currently teaching myself Polish and Japanese in a relaxed manner, without fear of making mistakes, being hesitant or having any reservations. The awareness of my learning systems enable me to advise others how I have been able to motivate myself to learn new languages and offer them guidance as regards the techniques I use and how I knit these together to get the most out of them. I appreciate that we are all responsive to and learn effectively from a differing number of techniques and activities, depending on our confidence, personality and desire / requirement to learn, for whatever purpose, but I have no doubt that each and everyone of us is capable of learning a new language - with the right attitude and the best form of teaching guidance.

The variety of learning resources and self-study techniques which I use, some of which are rather innovative and may not have been conceived elsewhere, are sure to bring you comfortable proficiency within between a total of between 16 and 24 hours of learning time, provided that self-study filters in during the meantime. These form part of the so-called Lingua Genesis methodology and the venture is dedicated to providing, free of charge, its own independent learning resources, many of which use MS Power Point or are improved workings of courses which have already been marketed, e.g. Talk Spanish, Deutsch Plus.

The company is also favourable, not least because I propose lower rates of tuition in comparison to other going hourly fees and offer discounts for longer periods of time and an increased number of people in any learning group. Moreover, the cancellation policy, which was modified on 30 November 2009 and implemented on 1 December 2009, is less harsh than many which have been set by other private language companies.

In any case, the quality of tuition is very high and promises to quickly yield linguistic proficiency, helping you also to overcome any tensions which are often associated with traditional and less effective means of language teaching to which you may have been exposed in the past. I guarantee excellent teaching, additional online support, entitlement to my product range, as well as, if required, a translation service for a very fair price, but one which is not too low that it may convey a false impression about the company`s standards of professionalism.

I also work as an independent researcher and delve into means of facilitated modern language acquisition, having done so particularly since the start of 2008.

Over the course of 2009, I have been in contact with the American hyperpolyglot, Professor Alexander Arguelles, who has been a tremendous inspiration on my decision to be self-taught in numerous languages.

I am now in the process of aiming to organise low-cost small adult classes and childrens clubs in Spanish, French, English, Italian and maths, i.e. if this is preferable to a one-to-one session, in Barnsley and Sheffield, but a minimum of eight people is required for these courses to enrol.

Experience: I have taught in primary education (Ladywood Primary School and St. Dominic`s Primary School) to children aged between 4 and 11, to GCSE pupils from Silcoates, Ackworth School and Wakefield Girls High School, and also to A-level students from Barnsley College and Wakefield Girls High School. I have taught on a one-to-one and small group basis, to married and unmarried couples, adult learners, both in their homes and in further education colleges, as well as in a number of well-established businesses in the Yorkshire area, e.g. SIG Trading Ltd (Sheffield), Noveon (Carlton, Barnsley), 02 (Leeds) and J. García Carrion (Leeds). I have also taught to full families, as well as children on their own (including one girl from Wakefield Girls Junior School and two boys who go to Stocks Lane Primary School, Barnsley), senior citizens and adult learners.

Qualifications: Personally, I hold GCSE and A-levels in a number of subjects, but most importantly Spanish, German and maths, all of which I teach, have a 2:1 honours degree in German and Spanish, hold a teaching qualification certificate, and have been trained, with thanks to the psychologist, Dr. Paul Peace, in the basics of modelling quintessential language learners - a skill which I have been able to further develop since my tuition with Dr. Peace in January 2008.
