Foreign languages and cultures are one of my main passions! (travels, music and dance too...)
I am a French Parisian native, who has travelled a lot around Europe before settling down in the UK. As a result of these, I have a high level of proficiency in Spanish and Italian and I do basic German too.
I enjoy working with children in educational and cultural contexts, which led me to teaching/working in summer schools every summer holiday since 2007. Additionally, I regularly deliver intensive preparation of 11+ entrance exams (VR, NVR) for Bucks and Berks Grammar schools.
I run a small Languages Tuitions organisation called: Speakit Languages Tuitions: [contact detail removed]
Availability: Weekdays afternoons and evenings: 4.30pm-9.30pm (except tuesdays)
Weekends: 10am-4pm
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I completed my PGCE of Modern Languages (French, Spanish, and German) in Liverpool John Moores University and trained in local comprehensive schools for my QTS qualification. I then moved down to South England where I worked for schools in Maidenhead, High Wycombe and Slough.
I am currently teaching in a Grammar school, but I have an extensive experience as a tutor for children, young people, adults and professionals.
Parallel to my daily work over the last three years, I have been regularly tutoring young people, adults and professionals in Modern languages for different purposes. Whether it is homework help, GCSE or A levels exams preparation, or booster conversation training for travelling abroad, I offer a lot of practice materials on all four skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing), techniques and methods to achieve long term improvements and sustain a lifelong learning of Foreign Languages.
I believe the study of a language is a key skill much beyond the finality of exams that helps to build self-confidence in communication. Languages are alive and there is clearly no point learning them without seeing HOW they can be used, in practice. For this reason, I teach mainly using authentic materials (videos, cartoons, songs) to make the process exciting and genuine!
