Information about Anne

I have a passion for ensuring children and young people/adults have the opportunities to make the most of their life experiences and especially of course in their learning and have taught children/young people aged 4-18 years and adults, in both schools and private settings. My specialities are Literacy, Numeracy and basic/functional skills but teach all subjects. I have a wealth of experience in teaching those with special and additional needs including those with Dyslexia, those who are on the Autistic Spectrum and those with challenging behaviour.

I am experienced in tutoring for English Literature & Language, GCSE 9-1 - AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, Eduqas, Pearson and Cambridge iGCSE

I have high expectations of students and always encourage them to have high expectations of themselves. I believe that helping studentsto develop a positive attitude about themselves and toward their learning is vital and enables them to make the progress they are capable of.

I take account of the learning style of students` interests and tailor resources and teaching activities to each individual to ensure she/he engages well and enjoys learning and makes improvements in her/his achievements. I am patient and consistent and have a good rapport with both children and adults and provide an excellent service.

I offer consultancy and support to families attempting to navigate the Special Education Needs & Disability (SEND) system. I have prepared reports for schools, the Local Authority (LA), and accompanied parents to meetings at school and with the LA. I have advised parents and supported them in the process of applying for Education,Health and Care Plans (EHCP). I have gathered, collated and presented evidence for SEND appeals and tribunals which has led to the provision of appropriate and necessary educational provision, to ensure that the child is able to access achieve across the full curriculum.

I provide tuition in Maths, English Language and Literature - up to GCSE level, Science, Humanities and PSHE. I also help children prepare for entrance exams 11+ etc.
I teach basic skills to those with special/additional needs. I privately tutor several children 1:1 on a part-time daily basis who are on the Autistic Spectrum and have associated emotional and behavioural difficulties. I teach English and Maths functional skills at level 1 & 2
I have also worked for ESCC Fostering and Adoption Team - supporting children who have had to deal with a variety of difficulties in their lives - and provided appropriate leaning opportunities for them.
I also support and advise parents on home schooling and teach children who are being home schooled for various reasons - those who do not `fit` the system, or suffer from school phobia or who have emotional and social needs or additional learning needs.
I have advised and supported parents whose child has special/additional needs, through the `maze` of the SEND, and have succeeded in getting appropriate support for them.

Friendly and well skilled in maths and communicating with nervous teenagers with years of being behind. She is instilling confidence and self belief not just times tables and fractions. Very pleased.

Anne was really supportive of my studies and gave me confidence; had I not reached out for her help I don’t believe I would have even sat the exams. I received a 7 (A) with her help in GCSE English. Thank you so much.

Anne has a good approach in helping children to enjoy the subjects. My son already seems so much more enthusiastic about his course work only after 2 sessions
