Biology (primary, ks3, gcse, a-level)
Following a BSc degree in Biomedical Sciences, I completed an MSc in Molecular Medicine with Cancer Research and it is now my intention to teach the students of tomorrow the biological sciences.
During my degree, I mastered the concept of biology with special emphasis on human disease, and it is this passion and enthusiasm for science that I wish to instill in every student that I teach.
I am currently a civilian instructor at the Air Training Corps. I have taught cadets aged between 13 and 17 years of age for over three years. I teach the principles of flight, airmanship and navigation, and in this time I developed methods of teaching in an interactive and effective manner. I will teach biology in this way and I believe that by using my teaching techniques, all students will see a great improvement in their grades, as well as enjoy biology and have a greater understanding and appreciation for the subject that may be difficult to them.
Availability: I can travel to the students house/place of preferred study, and can teach students on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 11am and 6pm.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have over 3 years of teaching experience with young people aged 13-17 as a Civilian Instructor at the Air Training Corps. Here, my teaching responsibilities include teaching the principles of flight, airmanship and navigation. I am currently in charge of sports and adventure training as well as assisting with the Duke of Edinburgh programme. My experience demonstrates my ability to work well with others as well as teach. I will use this experience along with my knowledge in biological sciences to ensure all students are engaged and enjoy their time learning biology.
