Information about Alba

Award winning young, enthusiastic cellist. Fully experienced as an orchestral and chamber music player. Patient and friendly. Current member of the Southbank Sinfonia, London.

I try to inspire my students through my personal experience so that playing their instrument becomes a way to find out more about themselves and how to communicate with others. Playing the cello can be so much fun!

Availability: Weekends/weekdays (all times)

Willing to travel: 30 miles

Experience: I have been teaching the cello privately since 2003 in both Spain and the UK. I have gained much experience in teaching people of all ages, standards, and cultures (adults and children), and am equally happy teaching theory, chamber and orchestral music; whatever their needs or requirements I always try to tailor my teaching to each individual student or ensemble. For nearly ten years now I have been part of various education days, teaching children about instruments and music, and have experience of one-to-one tuition, group lessons, and chamber coaching.

Qualifications: I studied music at the Joaquin Turina Conservatoire in Madrid for 10 years, after which I got my Professional degree in Music. I then got my BMus Hons degree from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I studied with Stefan Popov and Leonid Gorokhov and a PGDid and MMus from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where I studied with Johannes Goritzki.
