Information about Fabian

I am a linguist of multiple disciplines, including English, Spanish, Italian, French, Mandarin Chinese, German, Swedish, Latin, and Greek. I have a BA (2:1) in Italian and Spanish and an MA in Modern Languages, both with the University of Bristol. My level of English is exceptionally high and I have a rare interest in and talent for grammar and etymology. In my spare time I write poetry and short stories, and am also an active member of the Chinese Internal Arts Association (CIAA), largely specialising in Tai Chi and Qi Gong. I am also a keen traveller, especially throughout Latin America, Europe, and Asia. I am very approachable and patient and I very much hope you would be interested in studying with me - please do get in touch!

Experience: Having completed a Modern Foreign Languages PGCE course in partnership with UWE and the highly acclaimed Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) in 2014, I am a qualified teacher with considerable experience in language teaching (especially English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Mandarin) and extensive experience working in Special Educational Needs. During my PGCE I specialised in teaching English as a foreign language to vulnerable EAL students whilst at my second placement, teaching English to students with a wide range of educational, emotional and behavioural needs, and I have also worked as an English language tutor for adult students in preparation for CAE and IELTS examinations. I have also taught English for 5 months in a Primary School in Colombia (2010). Since 2014 I have worked in a several educational roles, including as a French teacher at Ansford Academy (2015) and as the Head of Languages at the Bristol Independent Steiner School (2016-17). Since September 2017 I have been a full-time freelance tutor in a range of subjects across all age ranges, from KS1 to retired adults, teaching English, Maths, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, History, Religious Studies, and traditional Chinese martial arts and meditation.
