I have taught Modern Standard Arabic and Classical for the last 18 years with very good retention of students and achievement. This was to a selection of diverse learner groups, from 5 years of age to that of 70 years. These courses varied from Arabic GCSE, AS, A2 to Arabic vocational courses for recreation, business, Community Language and military requirements. I am capable of teaching mixed level courses with learners ranging from complete beginners to GCSE in the same class.
My experience of delivering Arabic includes these educational sectors HE, FE, Sixth Form, Community Language Schools, Vocational training includes a variety of Training companies and Private tuitions.
Apart from the delivery of the course material I have also been an Arabic subject tutor and Course leader. This included the recruitment and initial assessment of the students` abilities and attainment which I produced the Individual Learning plan. I have led and completed course reviews and final course quality evaluations. I enjoy teaching and attempt to put each student first despite any barriers they have to learning. (Students who wish to learn a foreign language but are illiterate in their own language due to dyslexia). This has contributed to my close relations with my students, parents and colleagues.

I have designed Arabic courses for the delivery of learning objectives. This has included both incorporation of existing material/media and the production of my own texts for this learning process. I have conducted termly course reviews of course and learner progress reviews as well as quality audits.
Previously I have been asked by South Downs College I have been asked to take over a failing vocational Arabic beginners course and ensured that all the learners achieved ABC at entry 1, 2 and 3. I have trained and mentored new members of staff in Portsmouth College procedures. I have also delivered Diversity and Cross cultural training to my colleagues.
As an external Verifier for Pearson I familiar with the checking of processes and procedures and the conformance of the marking system with national standards. This contains centre development advice as how to prevent recurrence of errors.
As a GCSE Arabic speaking skills assessor I have to manage scri pt marking/moderation to a tight time scale.

I am a Trustee, a Community Tutor and a Community Language Coordinator for CLT (Hampshire) with special responsibility for the control of delivery of all languages in Portsmouth. I am therefore familiar with budgetary and school accommodation negotiations. This role also requires the raising and maintaining of funds from the community and local authorities via liaison with local MP Penny Mordaunt.
I have recruited and developed classroom assistants for the community school.
I have cooperated well with my fellow board members in the CLT in the difficulties of the ceasing of funding from Local Authorities across Hampshire. These activities encompassed a PR campaign for the retention of funding.

Availability: Mon to Fri evening from 6pm to 9pm and all Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
