Information about Syeda Saleha
I am a motivated, independent and hard-working individual. My commitment is reflected by a first class Biochemistry degree obtained at King`s followed by a PhD undertaken at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, titled "Modulation of Human Immune Responses During Anti-Tuberculosis Treatment" under the supervision of Dr. Jackie C and Professor Hazel D in under three years and two successful post-doctoral posts conducting research in Type 1 Diabetes immunology at University of Cambridge under the mentorship of Professor John Todd and in immune thrombocytopenia at Queen Mary University under the mentorship of Professor Daniel J P.
Teaching and supervision has been a great part of my career thus far as I have taught from BSc to PhD level and have supervised a number of student projects in the laboratory whereby I would be able to impart knowledge to my juniors. Presentation is one of my strong points as I really enjoy public speaking from being a national level debater in school to presenting at numerous conferences during my career. On many an occasion, I have demonstrated leadership qualities at school, university and in professional life by organising major events and taking on responsibility greater than my assigned role.
Am relaxed, friendly, patient but at the same time firm as far as work and deadlines are concerned. Open about discussing my personal experiences and advising students regarding their career and future and any reservations related to that.
My approach to teaching is a one on one approach understanding the student`s needs and potential. Work really hard in understanding each individual tutee, with careful attention to strengths and weaknesses polishing the former and improving the latter. Always encourage my students to keep on top of their work and make them understand topics they are due to study in the future.
Availability: Weekdays evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have taught Biochemistry to University Level students and mentored Bachelors, Masters and PhD student projects throughout my work experience with all the students having achieved a first or distinction. Have taught numerous A-Level students Biology in the past with very good results. In addition, have taught several children at GCSE and lower grades with a marked difference observed in grades and learning.

We have only worked with Syeda a couple of weeks but she seems professional, motivated and great with a difficultteenager. Which we had started earlier.
Tutors Response :
Thank you so much Helene. I hope that I can make all the difference and get her to where she needs to be.
