I work full time in London in the Civil Service, having previously studied at Townley Grammar School achieving A A B in Politics, Psychology and History. In the past I have tutored a number of students at varying ability levels and across different age groups. As a result of this I am very familiar with the required content and have developed a clear and effective teaching technique. I am able to relate to my students which has proven to be effective in aiding previous students learning.

My tutoring approach is to provide a structured, well planned programme tailored accordingly to suit each individual student to help them progress at the required pace. I believe it is important to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the student in order to tailor lessons that address gaps in knowledge and which build on their current skills for improvement. I am able to explain things clearly so the student is able to easily engage in the session and gain a good understanding of the topic. Where required, I can help in explaining and assisting with any school work and any homework that they are struggling with. In addition to this, I can help beyond the tutoring session by providing additional worksheets for practice, setting homework and any other materials necessary. I also keep in regular contact with parents so they are aware of the progress being made.

Availability: I am available weekday evenings and weekends and am flexible within these times.

Experience: I started tutoring in 2011 and throughout these years I have developed experience by teaching numerous students of differing age ranges and abilities. Because of the experience that I have gained, I am not only able to improve their skills and techniques in the required subject but I can help them gain confidence in their studies which I have found to have an overall positive effect on their studies and school work as a whole. I have helped raise students grades by several grade boundaries and help them exceed their predicted grades in a relatively short amount of time. I also have experience with young children, both secondary and primary school age through voluntary work at a children`s club which I have been part of for a number of years.

I have also been involved in being a mentor for a number of students and helped them gain confidence and ability in their writing ability and enthusiasm for their subject which has had a positive impact on their grades.
