Hello, my name is Allison and I am a Primary School teacher with 17 years` experience of teaching in Lincolnshire schools. I enjoy working with children and I am passionate about helping them to work towards their goals. As both a teacher and a parent of two children, I understand that children need an individual approach and aim to provide a friendly, calm and focused learning environment (both in person and online) combined with expert tuition.

For the past six years, I have provided 11+ Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning, English and Maths tuition for Primary age children in my own home, in Digby, Lincolnshire and have filled all my available sessions through repeat clients and personal recommendations. I have successfully adapted my teaching methods to online tuition, offering 1-to-1 sessions supporting the entire Primary Curriculum in addition to the 11+.

As a private tutor I am able to tailor sessions to the needs of each individual child, using a variety of approaches and resources. I aim to provide a calm, stress-free and focused learning environment enabling each student to progress as much as possible in each session.

In response to the COVID-19 situation, I am currently teaching exclusively online (using Zoom or FaceTime video platforms), supporting both existing and new pupils through the entire Primary curriculum whilst home-schooling, in addition to 11+ Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

11+ sessions - I am familiar with both GL Assessment and CEM Verbal and Non-Verbal/Spatial question formats. Please contact me to discuss additional 11+ requirements.

After I have introduced pupils to the various types of questions, I am able to increase the level of difficulty gradually - whilst beginning to work `against the clock` - until they are comfortable working on complete practice papers which reflect the challenge of the exam within the time allowed.

Experience: Alongside my classroom experience, I have 14 years` experience of helping children to prepare for the Eleven Plus exam (in Lincolnshire and Buckinghamshire) as well as providing one-to-one English and Maths tuition. I have also helped children to prepare for independent school entrance examinations.

For nine years I ran a successful after-school club in my local primary school, teaching the specific skills and strategies associated with the Lincolnshire grammar school Verbal and Non-verbal entrance examinations, before deciding to focus on individual tuition. I also teach the entire primary age range (from Reception to Year 6) in local schools on a supply basis, which means that I have current knowledge and experience of the whole primary curriculum.
