Information about Danielle

Hello, I`m Danielle. I am an enthusiastic, patient and committed 22 year old. I am in my final year of university, as of July 2014 I expect to have a 1st class degree in Primary Education. This year I gained qualified teaching status and was graded as an `outstanding`teacher.

Due to my experience I understand that many children do need that `one to one` teaching in order to grasp certain concepts. I understand that every child learns differently and that teaching must be tailored to the individual`s needs.

Due to my recent and up to date training I am very aware of the high expectations set for children and feel that my creative and caring nature would ensure that, your child, could achieve their potential and be the best they can be whilst also enjoying themselves.

Availability: As of June 24th I am available weekdays from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm throughout Summer.

I will offer the first session for free. In this session I will assess the child using my assessment system. Lessons after this will be based on the results from the assessment, meaning I can work with the child and yourselves to fill in any gaps.

It is common for children to drop a sub level over the Summer holiday period (for e.g. a child may leave year 5 with a level 4c and return to school on a 3b/3a) some children may drop even more than this.

Tutoring over the Summer ensures that children not only fill any gaps from their previous year in school but also, that they are prepared and have a head start on their upcoming year. This is particularly important when approaching their final year in primary school and even more so for the children who wish to be accepted in to the grammar schools and therefore take the 11+ tests in September.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: Over the past three years I have carried out a range of experiences across key stage 1 and key stage 2. Due to my experiences I am aware of the requirements of children at each stage in their education, as well as the best strategies to get them to where they need to be.
Last year, I tutored my niece for her Key stage 2 SATs in maths, an area in which she was having a lot of problems. She received a level 5 (an above average level) in her exams and also gained confidence and a love for a subject she had previously disliked.
I am currently tutoring my nephew who is making fantastic progress also.
Throughout my three years of experience I have built up a bank of effective resources that allow me to assess accurately and, identify any gaps in a child`s learning. This is important as these gaps must be filled in order for a child to progress to the next level.
