Information about Angela
I have been working as a home tutor since 2003, during which time I`ve successfully taught a range of students (from SATs to A-level and beyond) in both English and German.
The feedback Ive received from parents/caregivers and students has always been extremely positive, both in terms of exam results and a general willingness on the part of the young person to engage in lessons. My style of teaching is relaxed, gentle and non-dogmatic. I prefer to find out what a persons interests and personality are and to adapt my teaching accordingly.
I am entirely fluent in German, having lived in Germany for one year in 1997 and for six months in 2001. On both occasions, I worked as an English Language Teaching Assistant at secondary schools.
Throughout 2013, I worked for Causeway in Liverpool, as an ESOL English language tutor, working with marginalised and vulnerable individuals whod arrived in the UK as victims of human trafficking.
In terms of volunteering, I previously worked as a German Language Teaching Assistant at a local primary school. Alongside independent German lessons, I also offered one-to-one support with disruptive or uncooperative children.
I am a fully qualified German-English translator with two Masters Degrees in the language. I have also worked as a copy editor on nine literary titles for V&Q Books.

Feedback For Angela (5)

Angela has been teaching my two sons German since 2013. She supported them through GCSE. She helped the elder child with his school GCSE where he got an A* and the younger son studied German outside school and got an A in year 10. She has also helped me with grammar in my own language learning. My younger son continued informal German beyond year 11. She has always tailored their language learning to their needs and to their interests. I highly recommend Angela, she is an excellent teacher.

My 19 year old son started tuition with Angela in September (now end of November) to assist we English gcse resit. So far so good. Hes a reluctant learner so the fact that hes happy to go and he reminds me every week is a good sign.
