As a dedicated educator for 40 years, I have cultivated expertise in teaching English and French within diverse educational environments, teaching English up to GCSE and French up to A level. My present focus centers on preparing students for 11+/13+ English Entrance exams, with a notable success rate resulting in tutees receiving multiple offers and scholarships from esteemed institutions.

In the realm of Creative Writing, I have contributed to the field both as a published poet and creator of educational resources. My involvement extends to providing 11+ Reading prose passages for well-known distributors of practice papers. When tutoring English up to GCSE across exam boards, my focus centers on cultivating my students to communicate for diverse purposes and audiences. The aim is to instill an appreciation not only for quality writing but also text analysis via exposure to diverse perspectives. Emphasizing the importance of proficient punctuation and refined syntax, as well as of crafting well-structured original essays, I guide students in developing a holistic approach to learning.

At the KS3 level, there is a dedicated emphasis on honing SPAG skills (spelling, punctuation, and grammar) to effectively tackle common challenges. Student success in English and English Literature is fostered through comprehensive resources as well as via detailed feedback on their endeavours. Positive reinforcement encourages continuous improvement and achievement.

I have held French teaching positions in various settings over the years within private, church, community, and outstanding grammar schools; Apart from teaching A level French in Sixth Form as well as HE/ FE colleges, as indicated above, I have also delivered evening courses in Business and Practical French to adults.

Although my current focus is on teaching KS2 to KS4 students, I am also engaged in a `Masters in Adult Education` degree program via research.
