Information about Claire
I am a cheerful, bubbly person with a passion for teaching and learning.
I have been a fully qualified Science Teacher for the last 6 years and have also taught Music at KS3 for an academic year on a Maternity Cover. I worked for my first 5 years at an OFSTED outstanding comprehensive 11-16 secondary school in Hampshire and the moved to a local comprehensive 11-19 school where I taught A level Biology and Chemistry also. I am now a full time private tutor as i was able to leave classroom teaching to work with students 1-1 as my full time occupation. I have worked with over 60 students of all ages and abilities.
I pride myself in having excellent relationships with my tutees and strive to help them to achieve their very best in any subject.
I am able to tutor in all sciences up to GCSE standard and have experience with Edexcel, AQA and OCR exam boards. I also offer A level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology tuition
Availability: Weekday Evenings (and some weekends during exam season). I can be flexible as long as it does not interfere with another client.
I am also now looking for more tutees within the school day, particularly looking at working with students who are home schooled. or who are at college and may have free time during the school day.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring since September 2011 and in total have worked with over 60 students, mostly in science up to GCSE standard. All students have achieved to their very best potential with the extra support and materials.
I have also worked with one home-schooled student suffering with ADHD, who received a B grade after just 5 months on a GCSE course once a week.

Unfortunately, I was not able to use Claire for tutoring but her initial response to my inquiry and communication was outstanding.

Claire is energetic, knowledgeable and professional. My daughter had struggled with her science subjects for GCSE, and had asked whether she might have a tutor for these subjects. She very much likes Claire and has great trust in her. Having started with three hours a week during the summer holidays, we are now carrying on with one hour a week during term time, to keep things ticking over and to give our daughter the chance to go over with Claire, on a one-to-one basis, topics she has not fully understood at school. We would not hesitate to recommend Claire.

Claire is a bubbly, enthusiastic tutor. She can get the best efforts out of my 15 year old daughter. Which is quite difficult at times.
I would highly recommend her.
