Information about Sarah Beatrice

My name is Sarah and I am Walsall born and bred. As a mathematician with BSc Mathematics 1st (hons), I tutor people of all ages and abilities. As well being a tutor, I am also a project manager in the property industry. Consequently, I love to bring real life mathematical problems into the classroom. I believe that this has helped me to make lessons interesting and relevant to the pupils themselves. Via negotiation, I am also flexible to teach French, theoretical science and various other subjects.
My educational history can only be described as a vigilant quest in pursuit of greatness. I was educated in a challenging secondary school where I received 5 Astar GCSEs, 2 As and 3Bs. I then received ALevel ABB in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in 2007 at Walsall Academy. My key to success is in being prepared to put in the extra hours to overcome my weaknesses. In my case, I was a slow learner and so I required plenty of extra learning time in order to reach for the stars. While I was a student at the University of Birmingham, I worked as a mathematics teaching assistant. My experience in the classroom helped to identify key difficulties that students possess with the subject matter and how I could help them to solve them. After graduating with a BSc Mathematics 1st (hons), I have also worked as a cover supervisor in a wide range of schools. I am a committed and dedicated tutor with a depth of understanding of mathematics in which I transfer to pupils of all ages.
Overall, what you will get from a me is an exceptionally hard working and caring lecturer with a supreme knowledge of the mathematics syllabus. I have experience of differentiation and can produce original resources (for example: progress checkers) that are entirely original to their creator. I am a good listener, work flexibly and my position requires the sheer ability to communicate.
My current position was until now at NWSLC and then prior at Sutton Coldfield Alevel centre (Alevel mathematics maternity cover).Full time from 7:30 to 4:15pm and other additional evenings and holiday work days. Teaching 3 AS maths and 1 A2 maths Alevel groups. Also standing in as a personal tutor for an Alevel group, invigilating exams, marking homework booklets, producing STAR reports. My key reason for leaving my current employment: they already have an excellent Alevel mathematics teacher who is due soon to return from maternity leave.
I am also a private tutor on the weekends. This is a job that I originally worked full time 9 years ago until I became a lecturer. I tutor primary, secondary, home schooled, adults, footballers, etc. I have never left this employment.
Previously to working at Sutton Coldfield Alevel centre, I was an Alevel and GCSE mathematics lecturer at Bournville College, Longbridge Lane, Longbridge. I taught Alevel maths and GCSE maths full time to 16-18 and to adults during day and evenings. I also helped at enrolment and open days. My key reason for leaving was a desire to teach more Alevel work after having a successful audit from Alevel students. My work at Bournville college was perhaps my most challenging experience since the GCSE resit classes required a lot of behaviour management and my skills were therefore further developed in this area.
Before coming to Bournville College, I was a GCSE mathematics lecturer at Walsall College. This was the college where I trained and had been a session lecturer. It is therefore very close to my heart and is where I fine tuned my teaching. I left because I wanted to teach Alevel mathematics and to teach other things apart from the resit programme.

Availability: I am available to teach weekday evenings (3:00-9:30pm).
I am also available to teach at any suitable on Saturdays and Sundays.

I took a break from Tutor Hunt between September 2015 and December 2020 to focus on my maths lecturing. Due to Covid 19, I have returned to tutoring online. I tutor via Zoom and Skype.
