Information about Polly

I have been a primary school teacher for ten years and have gained much experience working with dyslexic and dyscalculic children.

I am a patient and conscientious teacher, particulary interested in individual learning styles. Listening closely to my pupils helps to understand their stumbling blocks and enables me to find a way forward.

I am very happy to tutor children of all abilities to try to help them achieve their potential.

Availability: After school on Tuesdays, Monday and Friday early evenings and weekends

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I worked for nine years at a Special Independent Preparatory school teaching English and Maths primarily but also covering subskills to enable dyslexic pupils to progress.

Polly has been working with our dyslexic son for almost 20 sessions now. The main focus has been maths. In that time I have seen a tremendous improvement in his maths and attitude to maths. He has developed a real warmth towards Polly and has great trust in her. He genuinely looks forward to the sessions. Polly understands how our son learns and gets the best from him. I hope Polly is able to continue working with our son for many years to come as he moves through the school system.
