I specialise in all core subjects at primary level and 11+ and 13+ exam preparation. My 1-1 online and in-person tuition started 10 years ago and I`ve enjoyed working with a number of families during this time. Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs of the pupil and my aim is to boost their subject knowledge and confidence overall.
I have tutored for several expat families who wish to keep their children`s education up to speed with the UK curriculum, or due to plans to return to the UK at any point in the future. My pupils have been based in Switzerland, France, USA, Thailand, China and Italy.
N.B. During busy times, families may be placed on a waiting list for future available slots. Only online tuition is available currently.
Availability: I will try to fit lessons in to meet each family schedule. Tuition is planned in line with the academic year and it is advisable to book in advance for longer-term support.
Half-term and holiday revision sessions are available. Saturday mornings and afternoons can also be arranged.
Online tuition is available 6 days a week.

Experience: Most of my pupils are preparing for their 11-plus exam in September or entrance exams in January. I have taught in conjunction with all exam boards used by grammar schools and independent school assessments. I also prepare pupils for scholarship assessments and out of the three pupils that have applied, all have been successful.
My commitment stems from helping young people succeed and have greater confidence in their ability. I always find that through increased self-belief they start to enjoy education much more and have greater motivation.
Regular feedback is provided throughout tuition and each lesson is tailored to the individual learning goals. We constantly move forward with new topics and once one academic year is covered, we move on to the next.
I am an online mentor with the Prince`s Trust Enterprise Programme and volunteer with the UK`s online reading programme Chapter One.

Our son has really enjoyed his tutorials with Hettie. She is very engaging and thorough and provides him with great tips on how best to tackle questions. We have seen an immediate improvement in his work and attention span. We are very happy with her. 😊;

Noah is really enjoying his tutor sessions with Hettie. Hettie makes Noah feel very at ease whilst encouraging him to find the answers for himself. When talking to Noah about his experience he commented that he feels Hettie is helping him understand things more clearly.
